I wonder how these guys can live on $37.50 and hour plus over $25.00 hour of benefits. Some of them might have to give up their new boat, might have to give up that 4th yearly vacation. All because the builders wanted them to accept a 20% wage cut. How about taking a 100% wage cut, as in no job.
Average salary in the NBA is $5,000,000 per year. The average player has 4.5 year career. That comes out to $22,500,00 earned in their career. The average worker in this country earns about $2,400,00 in their 40 year career. So basketball players earn 10 times career salary in about 1/10 of the time. Someone needs to tell those babies to grow up. I know some players will earn less, but some earn much more. They need to all grow up, they have been pampered babies their whole lives. Now the union says that they are fighting for future players, they can not agree to the owners terms because future players would not make enough money. And then Bryant “Dumbell” Gumbel compares the Owners to plantation owners. Bryant, and union members you need to walk the streets of towns and cities in this country to see what the real world is like. To see that most people live on less than some of these idiots spend on jewelry in a year.
I have no problem with someone earning as much as they can. But when people making millions cry poverty I draw the line.
To the players: You work for the owners, they are in charge, they pay your salary. If they choose to pay less, either take it or find a better job. Oh I forgot, like most other union members NBA players are uneducated and have no skills.
The president of the National Treasury Employees Union, Colleen Kelley, and one of her responses. ” she was not given advance notice that the administration was considering the freeze.”
Who does she think she is? The union, and all of its minions work for the administration. They work for them as private sector employees work for the CEOs of private companies.
Since when do employees get consulted on financial matters of a company? There is a reason some people are executives and some are not. Those that are capable of making the decisions for the good of the company , or in this case the Deficit make these decisions for a reason. And the reason is not so Joe Employee on the line can buy his new boat this year.
Once again I say to all of the union crybabies. Get an education, improve yourself. Stop thinking that you are owed something. You get paid for your labor, not your opinion. If you want input, move up the ladder. Until there just realize that you are uneducated bodies that can be replaced.
There is 1 universal work rule that all employees should follow. Do what your boss tells you and be glad you are being paid. Seriously people, you are being paid to work. If you have to clean a toilet instead of holding a wrench, do it! I believe that Union workers complain more than teenage children. As a worker you have rights, you can work and get paid. You can not work and quit. You can not work and get fired. But you do not have the right to tell you employer no if you are told to do something. As long as that task is legal and safe you are obligated to perform that task.
Come on America, it is 2010 not 1890. One theme that Union thugs push is that “without Unions working conditions would be horrible, companies would force workers into unsafe work practices and areas”. If any employer tried to force workers into unsafe conditions, Union or not, that employer would be called out.
Why do companies pay uneducated workers huge hourly wages to do manual labor? Most unions jobs (excluding public sector leeches) are unskilled, uneducated positions. If businesses were allowed to compete, were allowed to set their own pay scales, more industries would expand. More industries would take a chance with new capital investment. But no, too many states have pro-union laws. Laws that force people to belong to a union. This ties the hands of businesses. What we need are more Right to Work laws. Look at Virginia, right to work state, solid pro business state and GET this well paid workers. Thats right, businesses pay their workers well, they are not forced by stupid contracts and work rules to pay for slackers and leeches. Free enterprise works if we allow capitalism to decide how much a worker is worth to the business
